At the last meeting - 21 nov - I pointed out some great upcoming photo-ops. At the end of the meeting the topic for photos for the Dec meeting was generally decided as being night photos.

We are entering the season for some amazing night photos. Hand hold if you dare. Try a mono-pod or better yet - use a tripod. Point and shooters - try the night mode if you have it. Manual users - go exploring. Let's see some photos when we meet again.

Below are some ideas for night shooting

Nov 23 to 26 - "The Journey Of Love". 6:00 pm and on each evening at the Stayner Missionary Campground. Awesome - been there a few times. A wonderful event. This is probably the last year for this long running event. http://www.collingwood.ca/visiting_events.cfm?itemid=1896

Friday 24 nov - Wasaga Beach Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and carol singing. 7:00 pm. Note - they have moved it from in front of pizza pizza to Oakview Woods by the RecPlex

Saturday 25 Nov - I know it is during the day. 2:00 Santa Claus parade starts. Watch for the big tall Rotary Clown - try and get his picture.

Thurs/Fri/Sat Nov 30 to Dec 2 - First Light at Ste Marie Among the Huron. 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Fee. http://www.saintemarieamongthehurons.on.ca/english/special_events.html

Nov 20 to Jan 16 - Owen Sound Festival of Lights. http://sbp.teledyn.com/node/424

Anten Mills (15 minutes drive, on Horseshoe Valley Road) a family right on the main drag has Santa's workshop all set up and lit up. Starts soon if not already. Goes until early Jan.

Drysdales Tree Farm near Angus/Alliston has wonderfull family events - even if their prices are quite steep for trees and ornaments.

As you can see - there are lots of photo friendly events taking place in our little part of the world.

If you know of another event taking place - please add to the thread. Someone did mention a tree lighting and fireworks in Barrie - maybe this weekend.

Let's get the word out and get some really cool shots for the next meeting.
