OK, so the weather on the 20th of Jan was not conducive to going for a drive out of town and up the highway. So we cancelled based on the forecast and stayed home to stay safe. That's what we have to do sometimes.
We have rescheduled the trip to McCrae Lake for Saturday the 3rd of Feb. Meet in the parking lot of IGA in the Beach at 7:45 am to depart at 8:00 am. Estimated return to town is 4:30 pm.
Remember to dress for the weather.

OK folks, so far I have had two people email me that they will be out of town and cannot come. The weather was previously looking pretty nasty but the forecast has sort of improved somewhat. The heavy flurries, high winds and snowsqualls for our area look to be waiting until late Saturday night or Sunday (possibly into next week also). But, we have to keep an eye out for the McCrae Lake area - north of Honey Harbour/Port Severn, south of Parry Sound. Currently they are under a snowsquall warning and radar shows they are getting hit. Plus - the temperature tonight is supposed to plummet and we will awake to very cold temps and high wind chills.
I am interested in seeing if we can still go if anyone else wants to go. Please get in touch with me.
If the weather is horrible here or there; with snowsqualls, heavy flurries, high winds - I won't chance it.
Give me a shout or drop a note.

OK, it is midnight and I am heading for bed. I will get up early and check the weather. Not looking too good. As of a short time ago, the area here in Wasaga Beach, Barrie, Midland - are under a snowsquall warning for tonightinto tomorrow. Plus we are looking at getting up to a deep cold with serious wind chill. I will put up a note here if I intend to go or not. So far, only the two folks not able to attend have contacted me.
Take care,

6:20 am - Radar shows snowsqualls coming off Georgian Bay and hitting the area we want to go.
Area we have to go through, plus the area we want to go are under a snowsquall warning.
The MTO road report at 5:37 had vis on that stretch of the 400 at good-fair-poor. The visual depictions shows partial snow covered with poor vis.
There has been no indication anyone else wants to go on the outing.
The outing is officially cancelled.
See you at the next club meeting.
